If you want a Cameroonian number to receive an SMS verification code, Signival gives you temporary +237 phone numbers that receive one-time passwords (OTP) for sign-ups and security checks, with the code shown in your dashboard. Customers outside Nigeria, including in Cameroon, fund their wallets with cryptocurrency.
This page explains how to enter a +237 number correctly, which mobile networks operate in Cameroon, which platforms you can use a Cameroonian number for, and what to do when a code does not arrive. Check the pricing page for which platforms have +237 numbers in stock right now. Whether a platform accepts a particular number is always up to the platform.
Why Use a +237 Number for SMS Verification?
Cameroon’s rules require SIM cards to be registered with identification, so a personal line is tied to your identity. Rules change, so check the current requirements, but it is one reason people want a separate number for app accounts.
Cameroon has two official languages, French and English, and many people use apps and services in both. Some want a Cameroonian number for a business or community account that serves that audience.
You can fund your Signival wallet with supported cryptocurrency from Cameroon, so no Nigerian bank account or Naira payment method is needed.
How to Enter a +237 Number Correctly
Cameroonian mobile numbers have 9 digits and typically start with 6, such as 6XX XX XX XX. There is no leading 0 to drop, so in international format you simply add +237 in front: +237 6XX XX XX XX.
Use the country drop-down for Cameroon (+237) and type the 9 digits, or type the full +237 form into a single field. Do not enter the country code twice.
| Number | Written locally | International format |
|---|---|---|
| Cameroon mobile number | 6XX XX XX XX | +237 6XX XX XX XX |
Common mistakes
- Adding an extra 0 or 237 in front of the 9 digits
- Typing +237 into the number field after choosing Cameroon in the drop-down
- Choosing another central African country code in the drop-down

Mobile Networks in Cameroon
The main mobile networks in Cameroon are MTN Cameroon, Orange Cameroon, Nexttel and Camtel. Which network a rented number is on depends on current inventory.
In the platform help pages we checked, the requirement is usually that the number can receive an SMS or a call, not that it belongs to a particular network. Platforms still run their own checks, so any network or number is accepted.

Tips for Receiving an SMS on a +237 Number
- Get the format right first. A wrong format is the most common reason a code never arrives. Use +237 and the digits exactly as shown in the examples above.
- Treat each number as single-use. Many platforms limit how often a number can be used, and a rented number may already have been used. Do not plan on reusing it.
- Open the platform’s screen before you order. The activation window is limited. Have the phone field ready so you are not spending it navigating menus.
- Do not use a rented number for recovery. It expires. Set up an authenticator app or an email you control for anything you want to keep.
If Your OTP Code Does Not Arrive on a +237 Number
The SMS never arrives
Check the +237 format and the country selected in the platform’s drop-down, wait through the activation window and request the code once. If nothing arrives within 5 minutes, cancel for a refund.
The platform says the number is invalid
Re-enter it using the format shown above, with the +237 country code and no extra digits. If the format is right, the platform may not accept the number, so cancel and try one from another country.
The platform says the number is already in use
A rented number may already be linked to another account. Cancel and rent a fresh one.
The platform only offers a call or WhatsApp
Signival numbers receive SMS, so a call or WhatsApp route cannot be completed with them. Cancel and try another platform route or number.
