Twitch SMS Verification — Receive Your OTP Code
Twitch phone verification only accepts SMS-capable mobile numbers, and one ban on a number can suspend every account tied to it. Signival gives you a temporary non-VoIP number to receive the OTP. Pay in Naira or crypto.
Twitch asks you to verify a phone number when you want to chat in a channel that requires phone-verified chat, and for some account security features. It sends a one-time password (OTP) by SMS, a temporary code you enter to continue. If you would rather not use your personal SIM, Signival gives you a temporary non-VoIP phone number that receives the Twitch SMS verification code and shows it in your dashboard.
Twitch designed phone verification around ban evasion, which makes it unusual. One number can verify up to five accounts, but if one of those accounts is suspended site-wide, all of them are. This guide explains that rule, why it makes a shared or recycled number risky, how to receive a Twitch OTP with Signival, and what to do if the code does not arrive.
Why Twitch Asks for a Phone Number
Twitch added phone-verified chat so creators can require some or all chatters to verify a phone number before they can write in chat. If a channel you watch has it switched on and your account is not verified, Twitch asks you to verify when you try to chat.
Twitch lets one phone number verify up to five accounts. To prevent ban evasion, if one phone-verified account is suspended site-wide, all accounts tied to that number are suspended too, and a number tied to an actively suspended account cannot verify more accounts.
At the channel level, if one phone-verified or email-verified account is banned from a channel, all other accounts tied to that number or email are banned from chatting there too. Phone verification only needs doing once and applies site-wide, unlike two-factor authentication.
When Twitch Asks for a Verification Code
Chatting in a phone-verified channel
If a creator requires phone-verified chat and your account is not verified, Twitch prompts you to add a phone number when you try to chat.
Verifying an account once
You verify a number once and it applies across the site. Twitch sends a code by SMS to confirm it.
Re-verifying after a change
If a number is tied to a suspended account, Twitch will not let it verify additional accounts, so you would need a different number.

Get an available number for Twitch, receive the SMS verification code, and complete your activation through your Signival dashboard.
Can a Temporary Number Receive Your Twitch OTP?
An OTP number is a temporary phone number, sometimes called a virtual number, that receives text messages without a SIM in your phone. For Twitch it can receive the verification code by SMS, if Twitch accepts the number.
The five-account limit and the suspension rule make a rented number risky. A number can already be tied to other people’s accounts, and if one of them is suspended site-wide, your account on that number would be suspended too. A rented number that has been used before may also be refused.
Use verification for your own account only. Twitch built these rules to stop ban evasion, so using extra numbers to get round a ban breaks its rules and tends to make things worse.

Tips for Receiving Your Twitch SMS Code
- Use a number that is not shared. Twitch allows up to five accounts per number and suspends them together. A shared or recycled number carries other people’s risk.
- Treat each rental as single-use. A number that has already verified accounts on Twitch may be at its limit, or tied to a suspended account.
- Choose SMS-capable mobile numbers. Twitch does not accept landlines or VoIP. If it refuses a number, cancel and try one from another country.
- Verify once. Phone verification applies site-wide and only needs doing once. You do not need a number for every login.
- Add two-factor authentication separately. Verified chat is not two-factor authentication. Set up an authenticator app so the account does not depend on a rented number.
If Your Twitch OTP Code Does Not Arrive or Is Rejected
Twitch will not accept the number
Twitch does not allow landlines or VoIP numbers. Cancel and try a mobile number from another country.
Twitch says the number cannot verify more accounts
The number is either at its five-account limit or tied to an actively suspended account. Cancel and rent a fresh number.
The SMS does not arrive
Check the country code and digits and wait through the activation window. If nothing arrives within 5 minutes, cancel for a refund.
Your account was suspended along with another
Twitch suspends every account tied to a number when one of them is suspended site-wide. This is why a shared number is risky. Contact Twitch support about your own account.
You lose access to the number later
Phone verification is a one-time step, but keep an email and an authenticator app on the account for sign-in.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I receive a Twitch OTP code without my personal number?
Fund your Signival wallet in Naira or with cryptocurrency, choose Twitch and a country in your dashboard, and enter the temporary number you are given into Twitch’s phone field. Request the SMS, and when Twitch sends the one-time code it appears in your dashboard for you to type in. Whether the number is accepted is up to Twitch.
Are Signival numbers non-VoIP?
Signival numbers are sourced from mobile operators rather than internet-based VoIP lines. That matters because Twitch does not allow VoIP numbers for phone verification. Twitch runs its own checks.
Can I get a free OTP number for Twitch?
Signival numbers are paid, starting from 150 naira. A free public number is shared by many people, so it may be tied to other Twitch accounts, some possibly suspended, and anyone can read the code sent to it. Because Twitch suspends every account on a number together, that is a risky choice.
How many Twitch accounts can one phone number verify?
Twitch lets one phone number verify up to five accounts. If one of them is suspended site-wide, all accounts tied to that number are suspended too.
What is phone-verified chat on Twitch?
It is a creator setting that requires some or all chatters to verify a phone number before they can chat. If your account is not verified, Twitch asks you to verify when you try to chat.
Do I need to verify my number every time I log in?
No. Twitch says phone verification only needs doing once and applies site-wide, unlike two-factor authentication.
Why was a number refused for Twitch?
Twitch refuses landlines and VoIP numbers, numbers at the five-account limit, and numbers tied to an actively suspended account.
Can I receive the code by call instead of text?
Twitch may offer a call, but an SMS-only number cannot receive it. If the SMS does not arrive, cancel and try another number.
What happens if my Twitch OTP code does not arrive?
If the SMS does not arrive before the activation expires, the request is closed under the applicable service and refund terms, and eligible failed activations may qualify for a wallet refund. Check the activation status and refund conditions shown on Signival before you order.
Can I use Signival for Twitch SMS verification from any country?
