YouTube SMS Verification — Receive Your OTP Code
YouTube channel verification texts you a code, and a number can only be linked to two channels per year. Signival gives you a temporary number to receive that OTP. Pay in Naira or crypto.
To unlock advanced YouTube features, you verify your channel by phone. YouTube sends a one-time password (OTP) by text or voice call, and you enter it to finish. If you would rather not use your personal SIM, Signival gives you a temporary phone number that receives the YouTube SMS verification code and shows it in your dashboard.
YouTube has a clear limit: a phone number can be linked to no more than two channels per year. This guide explains what channel verification is for, what YouTube says about refused numbers, how to receive a YouTube OTP with Signival, and why the number should not be your channel’s safety net.
Why YouTube Asks for Your Phone Number
YouTube says using phone numbers to verify identity is one way to protect its community and combat abuse. It sends a verification code by text or voice call, and it uses the number to make sure it is linked to no more than two channels per year.
To access advanced features, you must first complete phone verification. After that you can choose to build up channel history or verify with ID or video for more. YouTube’s list of advanced features can change, so check your channel’s feature settings for the current one.
You may also be asked to verify your account when you sign up. YouTube notes that not all operators support text messages or voice calls from Google, which is one common reason a code does not arrive.
When YouTube Asks for a Verification Code
Verifying your channel
In your channel’s feature settings you are asked to enter a phone number, and YouTube sends a code by text or voice call.
Unlocking advanced features
You complete phone verification first, then you can choose to build channel history or verify with ID or video to unlock more.
Signing up or signing in
YouTube shares Google’s account checks, so you can also be asked to verify when you sign up.

Can a Temporary Number Receive Your YouTube OTP?
An OTP number is a temporary phone number, sometimes called a virtual number, that receives text messages without a SIM in your phone. For YouTube it can receive the channel verification code by text, if YouTube accepts the number.
YouTube says a phone number can be associated with no more than two channels per year. If a rented number has already verified two channels this year, YouTube refuses it with a message that the number has already created the maximum number of accounts.
YouTube also notes that some operators do not support text messages or voice calls from Google. Its advice is to try the text or voice option, or to use a number from a different operator. If one country does not work, try another.
YouTube’s code can also arrive by voice call, which an SMS-only number cannot take. No provider can promise YouTube will accept a particular number.

Tips for Receiving Your YouTube SMS Code
- Count your channels. A number can be linked to two channels per year. A rented number is single-use anyway, so treat each rental as one channel verification.
- Choose text, not voice. YouTube also offers a voice call, which an SMS-only number cannot receive. Pick the text option.
- Give the text a few minutes. YouTube says you should get the code immediately and suggests the voice option only after waiting a few minutes. Requesting codes repeatedly will not speed it up.
- Try another country, not the same number. If YouTube says the number has already created the maximum number of accounts, use a different number, ideally from another country or operator.
- Protect the Google Account behind the channel. Your channel lives on a Google Account. Add recovery options you control instead of relying on a rented number.
If Your YouTube OTP Code Does Not Arrive or Is Rejected
YouTube says the number has already created the maximum number of accounts
The number is linked to two channels this year. Cancel and rent a different number.
The text does not arrive
YouTube says you should get the code immediately. If you have waited a few minutes, check the number, and if nothing arrives within 5 minutes, cancel for a refund. The voice option is not available to an SMS-only number.
Your operator is not supported
YouTube says some operators do not support texts or calls from Google. Cancel and try a number from a different country.
YouTube still will not unlock a feature
Phone verification is one step. Advanced features can also depend on channel history or ID verification, so check what your channel is missing.
You lose the number later
A rented number expires. Do not use it as a recovery phone on the Google Account behind the channel, and keep your recovery email and sign-in methods under your own control.
